There are two types of sugar wax that you can make at home – hard wax and soft wax. Both will suffice hair removal but whichever sounds more convenient to you, you should do that.

1. Hard Sugar Paste Wax

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups of sugar;
  • 2 tablespoons of lemon juice;
  • 1 cup of water.

Mix all of this in a heavy bottom pan and heat. Once it reaches a rich honey color, turn off the heat and pour the mixture into a heatproof container.

In case the mixture color is darker, then it has turned into sugar candy and you can’t use it for hair removal!

Wait for 20 – 25 minutes and check if you can touch it with fingers or not. Once it is cool enough and ready to use, put it with a spatula on your skin in the opposite direction of hair growth. Count till 5 and then pull it off in the direction of hair growth.

2. Soft Sugar Paste Wax

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup of sugar;
  • 2 tablespoons of lemon juice;
  • 1 cup of water.

Bring all these to boil together in a pan till it turns into light honey color. Turn off the heat and pour it into a heatproof container.

Once it is cool enough (15 – 20 minutes), it should be a little bit thicker than honey.

You can spread the wax on your body with a spatula on the opposite direction of the hair growth. Then with some fabric strips pull it in the direction of your hair growth.

Your homemade sugar paste is ready!
